WAARDENBURG, JUNE 29, 2004:
On July 1 Open Ratings will launch version 8 of its SP-Impact product, containing the Toolkit MAP, to build new applications, Balanced Scorecard and Performance Impact. The major features are:

1. New look & feel of the web
2. New source connector / XMLA data source possibilities to access MS-OLAP
3. The Supplier Scorecard
4. Extras

1. New look & feel of the web

One of the major new features in the new look & feel for deployment via a web browser is the ability to use of Cascading Style Sheets. This makes it much easier to change the complete look and feel of any SPImpact web application. In such a style sheet all kind of layout settings can be set and then be used on all pages/applications. It is also possible to switch from style sheet when changing application.

2. New source connector / XMLA data source possibilities to access MS-OLAP

The new added source connector gives the new possibility to use XMLA compliant data sources such as Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Olap. The XMLA source connector can be used on the full client, java client and on the web. With this new data source and connector possibility, all existing functions within SPImpact can be used.

3. The Supplier Scorecard

There is a new application that will be shipped within the standard installer. This application is called the "Supplier Scorecard". As the name says, it is a scorecard application concerning the suppliers of an organisation.

4. Extras

- Exporting pages to XML
It is now possible to export pages to external .XML-files. Adjustments can be made in these files, such as changing names of connectors, etc. After that you can easily import the page again.

- Exporting charts to external pictures
It is now possible to save a chart from an SPImpact web-page as an external picture on your machine. When right clicking a chart on the web-page, it is possible to store the chart as for example a .JPG-file.
